In 2019, Charles was living in New York and Simon was visiting on business. After Simon left Charles texted him again and decided that summer he would visit him in Belgium. But Simon couldn't wait and paid him a visit the next month, and then two more months in a row. For the rest of 2019 we were crossing the Atlantic monthly to see each other. We visited the Faroe Islands together that July with Charles' good friend Miranda and we first said "I love you" to each other in August in Paris at the "I love you" wall.
Five more monthly visits later COVID happened. We called each other every day, and started visiting as soon as we were able. We both wanted to close the distance, so we were ecstatic when Simon was admitted to MIT for supply chain management in the fall of 2022. When Simon graduated we moved to the south Bay Area. A year and a half later we proposed and enjoyed one last ski season in the Sierras before moving to Bentonville for Simon's promotion!
